How We Can Help

SUBR/SEA Technology Business Mentoring and Support Program:

Provide information to small businesses and individuals about SBIR and STTR opportunities.

  1. Provide detailed information about the requirements and process of preparing and submitting an SBIR (or STTR) proposal. Important aspects of the requirements include the qualifications of the principal investigator, specifically who can (or cannot) apply.

  2. Provide training to small businesses on how to prepare SBIR proposals. Training will generally take the form of workshops and seminars.

  3. Assist small businesses in developing and submitting proposals. Assistance include:

  • Searching for the federal agency that has a current solicitation that best fit the technology, concept, idea, or project.

  • Soliciting the services of an expert (e.g., engineer, scientist, college professor, etc.) in the appropriate area and/or field, to assist the small business in completing and submitting the proposal.

  • Providing small businesses with proposal development materials which include samples of successful proposals from different agencies, as well as use of SBIR proposal development software packages.

  • Providing financial assistance in the form of paying outside experts to review the proposal prior to submission.

  • Working with the small business and providing general guidance in all necessary areas until the proposal is submitted.
