SUBR/SEA Technology Business Mentoring and Support Program

The SUBR/SEA Small Business Mentoring and Support Program was developed primarily to address the low participation rate of Louisiana small businesses in both the SBIR and STTR programs. The program identifies small businesses with technology potential and introduce them to SBIR/STTR opportunities. The mentoring and support program provides technical support in the form of training and assistance to small businesses.

The activities include seminars, workshops, technical assistance, as well as one-on-one counseling on how to prepare and submit an SBIR proposal. In addition to training, financial and other incentives are also provided in order to encourage small businesses to stay in the program and complete the process.

The goal is to increase the participation of small businesses in Louisiana in the SBIR and STTR programs. The major strategy being employed is that of collaborating and working in close partnership with the Science and Engineering Alliance (SEA), as well as in cooperation with other institutions and agencies across the State of Louisiana.
